Any one who claims otherwise is supporting the violation and annihilation of lesbianism, every lesbian woman, every girl who'll grow up to be a lesbian and of lesbian cultures. Yeah I wonder. I do think she (edited by she I mean Gill Greer who wrote that press statement and was head of NCW for a while) might have been kicking around in the same international development circles as Paul Hunt, our trans-focused ex Human Rights Commissioner. I feel like both have been very open to the idea that anything is human rights if you just say it is. It's a quick step to such human rights must be defended at all costs and without question and thus anti-women behaviour is acceptable. Happy to be corrected in my theory. It's very sad.
What interests me us on what grounds NCW seems to be claiming that thus is the feeling of their membership. Was this issue canvassed around member organisations - by vote? Was it decided by an elite committee of just a few? Was it written during lockdown? I can’t believe that women as a group can give up our sec based rights so easily. Have you got a copy of FOWL’s submission to the Law Commission?
So the membership voted for it. Their flagship campaign is now Gender Equal NZ which focuses on trans rights. I don't know why they maintain the CEDAW role, they are not really interested in women any more.

The irony is that a lot of younger women today are turning off men, regardless of innate sexuality, as men (and boys) become increasingly porn addled and entitled, thanks to the patriarchy. I don't know if you saw the 2010 lesbian film 'The Kids Are All Right', but even at the time I thought it was well out of line showing the lesbian couple not only 'enjoying' heterosexual porn but one of them having a very intense fling with a man. I reckon these bastards have been chipping away at women's rights and lesbian rights for many decades now, twisting everyone's heads to question the sense and importance of women's boundaries. And yeah, the co-opting of the feminist Left was their master stroke. 😣
