Hey, hey, hey. It's the new misogyny

In which I show how the "trans pride" movement has become unfettered women-hatred.

So I created and posted this image a couple of days ago on Twitter. I’m fair and I’m a fan of evidence, so I want to show how the trans pride movement has become explicitly misogynistic. How the real narrative of “trans pride” is not the continuation of civil rights movements for oppressed minorities but the continuation of misogyny; the child of fundamentalist ideas about owning and controlling women, anti-feminist men’s rights movements and entitled incels (involuntary celibate men who simultaneously hate women and demand that women must have sex with them).

And because people might accuse me of cherry picking, or scare-mongering, or dog whistling, or showing the exceptions not the rules, I’m setting myself the challenge of finding examples just from the last month. Just this November, and readers should be aware this is just a tiny proportion of what’s gone on just this month. And know this is happening every month. Sound fair? Well hey, hey, hey let’s go.

First a note, by women, I mean people who belong to the biological class of women. If that’s hard for you think of women as shorthand for the class of people formerly known as women or the class of people almost everyone in the entire world actually considers women.

Women can not, must not and will not:

1. Have their own meetings and groups

17 Nov 2022: Well this is a bit of a classic eh? Eventbrite decided that women’s meeting, organised by and for women, could not be on their platform. A meeting, no less, in part to launch a book called Defending women’s spaces. Women’s Place UK has on their website the tagline Violence against women and sex discrimination still exist. Women need reserved places, separate spaces and distinct services. But no, no. no women’s right to pursue this fairly reasonable goal is not okay because Eventbrite said the meeting was a violation of their policy on Hateful, Dangerous, or Violent Content.

2. Use words and language that describe their lives

21 Nov 2022: After a year or more of internal deliberations, here in Aotearoa our Midwifery Council closed the two weeks submission period on their new draft updated Scope of Practice that all our midwives must sign up to. The draft entirely removes the words woman, mother and baby and the te reo Māori equivalents wahine, māmā and pēpē.

19 Nov 2022: The Telegraph reports that all staff at UK’s Ministry of Justice were sent an internal email saying they should not say the phrases “protecting women and girls” “protect women’s spaces” and “same-sex attracted” because they are transphobic.

3. Sleep only with each other

7-8 Nov 2022: The First Tier Tribunal of the UK’s General Regulatory Chamber heard final days of evidence in the case that trans charity Mermaids brought against LGB Alliance appealing the Charity Commission’s decision to grant them charitable status. . LGB Alliance’s stated purpose is to assert “the right of lesbians, bisexuals and gay men to define themselves as same-sex attracted". The group formed because other charities like Stonewall, that once advocated for lesbians, gays and bisexuals have incorporated transgender people into their remit and more significantly gender ideology which believes that biological sex and therefore same-sex orientation does not exist. Stonewall boss has likened lesbians to racist bigots and many groups including Mermaids and other trans-focused groups have redefined lesbian and gay to mean not same-sex attracted but same-gender attracted.

4. Have their own safe and private spaces

15 November 2022: So I am not saying that prisons are safe on any count, but for women prisoners, many if not most of whom are victims of male violence, being away from males is more safe and feels safer. Transwomen have the same rates of violence as other biological males. In Scotland, male prisoners can self-ID as women and then be put in female prisons. Half of the transgender prisoners in Scotland only began transitioning after conviction. Laws can be exploited. Putting them with women is dangerous. On Tuesday, in NZ, a trans identified male was sentenced to nine years in prison for stabbing three people including one women with severe injuries. The pre-sentence report has found the person to be at high risk of further violent harm to others. They are housed at Auckland Women’s Prison.

5. Have their own sports

12 Nov 2022: Transgender woman Austin Killips, takes out Verge Northampton International Cyclocross held in Northampton on November 12.

16 Nov 2022: Ian Thorpe says FINA (swimming body) have got it wrong and women shouldn’t have their own sports. This is despite irrefutable evidence that males have biological advantage over females in sports.

6. Teach their kids to love their bodies

25 Nov 2022: In a Twitter update, Australian company Sock Drawer Heroes continue their merciless campaign to sell tucking undies to boy toddlers and packers to girl toddlers. Tuckers teach small boys that their penises are shameful and packers are fake penises marketed to small girls. Tucking is physically harmful let alone the psychological distress caused to young kids encouraged to feel shame and distress about their bodies. In frightening marketing spin SDH insist that such underwear will help kids feel “more at home in their bodies”.

7. Ever, ever, ever say out loud what’s going on

15 Nov 2022: A large group of protesters, including these lovelies, yell abuse at a Let Women Speak protest outside City Hall, New York City. The person on the right yelled “I am going to beat your ass bitch. Yes I am. I am going to beat your ass. These hands do not discriminate” and so on. The same person later calls actual Stonewall riot participant a “fucking faggot”.

28 Nov 2022: At another Let Women Speak rally at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park London, the violence remains overt. This is not a legacy of civil rights movements but a legacy of male violence and oppressions. These are the people, antifas included, who just don’t want to let women speak.
